Androscoggin River, New Hampshire
If you look carefully into this shot you will see the river reflections running through the middle. The East Coast is famous for scenes like this–fall at its prime. These gorgeous oak trees spread their branches over the river and the delicate ferns in the foreground glowed yellow after a fresh shower of rain. A few red leaves transformed this image into a magical land. I used a polarizer to reduce the glare and disperse the spectrum. I felt a special mood as I nestled my camera amongst the ferns and carefully composed the shot. Moving the tripod only inches changed things dramatically. This was the spot. I pressed the shutter and watched the river flow. It was a magic moment.
